An excerpt from The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown:
"…Look around you. Her story is being told in art, music, and books. More so every day. The pendulum is swinging. We are starting to sense the dangers of our history…and of our destructive paths. We are beginning to sense the need to restore the sacred feminine….Sing her song. The world needs modern troubadours."

As a modern troubadour, I took these words to heart. Investigating the centuries of song and opera repertoire, I was amazed and humbled to find so many references to the mysterious She in all the same secrecy and code Dan Brown unravels in The Da Vinci Code.

In these songs, you will hear reference to the Star, the Sea, the Rose, the Chalice, the Garden. These songs sing of "secret worship", to the "the Source of all Love". And She is called by her many names – Hebe, Ceres, Chloris, Phoebus, Minerva, Cybele, Pomona, Flora, Aphrodite, Harmony, Muse, Diva, Maria, Magdalena, and even Urania, who to this day stands over Isaac Newton's tomb in Westminster.

Today, may we all be "drinkers of freedom" from the "amethyst chalice" and may these songs help to "scatter her peace on the Earth."

"In Miles Apart, I interpret some of my favorite intimate art songs and arias that speak to the long road of a life and the journeys our minds and spirits travel together and apart."

PRODUCER'S NOTES:

"Miles Apart was recorded over a three hour period in a small rehearsal room with a 7ft Steinway grand. Jennifer sang into a vintage Neumann tube microphone, the U-47, which is capable of capturing tremendous sound pressure levels as well as subtle tonal variations, both necessities for recording Ms. Griffin Chesney. An all tube Manley signal path with its optical compressor placed brilliantly in front of the microphone preamplifier gave me the added insurance to put her huge dynamic range to tape. It was remarkable to watch Jennifer sing song after song with such subtlety, intensity, and strength, breaking only to allow me to change tape! A rare pleasure." --Sean Pearson, Producer
